under great guidance a soccer team lost all four games, conceding eleven and scoring one.

with absolute coach support said soccer team kept spirit high, learnt about tactics, team structures and roles, and with courage kept trying to produce rapid and bold football moves.

everybody involved left tired and grinning.

taylor swift played her part, too.

Bendigo Amateur Soccer League under 12 team, with Jean on number 21.

loosing the battles, but winning the war.

human beings standing tall

owning their roles as artists

calling out war, unjustified invasion and barbarism

intentionally and explicitly directing their craft towards a contribution to the war effort

using their incredible skills to share with a foreign audience the nature of their reality

lamenting grieving raging yet still finding space for hope and laughter and joy

making us feel all the feels

finding ways beyonds words to engage -though for one night at least I wished I understood ukrainian

three long heart felt ovations by the crowd, standing

witnessing all this and getting carried away were two birds who couldn’t hide their excitment of having survived the Melbourne traffic for a night away in the city.

Ukraine will win.

back to school, 2024. the big change this year was for Sid, heading now to Castlemaine Secondary College (CSC), with his big sister, while Jean is now our only primary school student.

first pic was taken by Claire on the very first day, wednesday january 31th. second is my very first two children drop off at CSC.

so far so very good. they all love it. life is a blessing, and our children always ready to teach me how to embrace evolution.
