the week that’s been
last Sunday was the fifteenth anniversary of Claire and I’s wedding. one of the milestone dates of our life, it was a good occasion to remember. the day, the adventures, the memories, the path ahead. a day to remember all those who were with us on that beautiful day, physically and in spirits, feeling forever grateful and indebted for each and every contribution to this day – I will never forget. a very good day to go for a long sunny bushwalk.
yesterday Zsuzsa, Sidney, Ryder and I took a trip to the footy. boys were covered from head to toes in tigers gear. Zsuzsa and I borrowed some patches. the flag waving, the cheering, the jeering, the sense of identity it both so cheaply and generously provides, the crowd effect, our human sponge children soaking all this in their soft shelled brains and hearts, the half time chips, the beers. all this. such a fascinating anthropological experience – what we humans do – in a very remarkably safe diverse, cross gendered and family friendly environment. Melbourne.
in between the kids went back to school and the whirlwind of work, sports, trainings, lunch boxes and school drop-in and drop-offs started again. it feels so good to feel useful again.
I also went to a gig in Chewton and there was a stuffed cow head holding a disco ball.

One day a few years back i offered some buskers a few beers and told them i played the clarinet and to this day it is one of the best thing i have ever done in Castlemaine.
