pondering big life decision
so it happened that exactly two weeks after being hatched, and six days after discovering feathers, black birds qre ready to fly away.
good luck littles things, travel safe and please call again.

on top of the black geranium pot, in the center, there, a black bird built a nest, and laid some eggs.

this morning on my way to work I noticed a lot of mist coming up from the botanical gardens. so I parked the car and went to see.
arrived at work a bit later than I wanted, but with my spirits running high.

how I see her. how she sees me.
a father’s day report.
I didn’t take any family picture on the day. so much love was given.
the presents Claire organized, the letters, the preparations, the two weeks Jean so difficulty held her tongue about the tote bag she had been preparing at school, the endless and shy love of Sid manifested through AFL football and dad jokes, the words Zsuzsa writes so beautifully.
there isn’t one moment I am not grateful to share my life with these humans, and for the miraculous opportunity I was given to be celebrated on this day.

the place, the stage, and some pirate recordings
the night I came back to Yandoit with the Django Fretts. Claire came with the kids, I saw a few former neighbours and friends, the bossanovists were there too, and some curious locals folks.
it was a beautiful occasion, the band played well and the spirits were left flying high.
everyone I talked to afterwards was left feeling very grateful for the people who came, the people who organized, and the people who played – blessings shared all around, what humans do.
my former neighbour Richard took these recordings and allowed me to share.
now I don’t really like hearing myself playing on record, a bit like I don’t like hearing my voice on answer machines (I don’t think anyone does, really).
but long ago I promised myself to be as transparent as possible here.
so here I am, with the Fretts, bless these men.
