60 metres sous Wagner.

à Melbourne il y a un opéra qui joue Wagner. à Bendigo il y a un théâtre, et des mines d’or. alors quand Jérémie, le mari de mon collègue Daryl a été embauché pour promouvoir le tour régional de l’opéra de Melbourne à Bendigo, il eut cette idée un peu farfelue d’organiser un concert, 60 metre sous terre, dans la “salle de réception” de la Deborah Goldmine.

j’eus la chance d’être invité par Daryl.

tout le monde dût porter un casque et déambuler, avec ou sans instruments, le quelques 50 m de galleries menant au spectacle.

une expérience unique. l’élite des musiciens d’opéra australien -mon enregistrement piraté ne leur rend pas justice- là, juste devant nous, à portée de bras. dans une chambre taillée à même le granite, 60 metres sous terre.

the weekend when beautiful A came to visit us and Castlemaine put on a hundred shows and I drove with a double bed on top of my head and potted more yuccas in a house already full of yuccas and momu and pops visited us as well for a cuppa though of this I have no photos to show.

the day after all this I received the fine Victoria Police issued me last Wednesday. the u-turn I’ve been doing almost daily for the last three years appears to be an illicit move. 370$. it annoyed me. but I had moved on. many days had happened in between, and many days all at once.

time sometimes warps and stretches in mysterious ways, and so it did this weekend in the middle of which beautiful A and B waved goodbye to each other through their car windows, with hearts and minds full of why’s, what if’s and if only’s that need not be answered.

Ross is a local mandolin player, and a few days ago he offered us to play there a sneaky set of gypsy jazz.

We wasted three eggs, a litre of dishashing liquid, half a litre of hand soap and a bit of food colouring failing to reproduce Youtube’s slime recipe succes stories, remembering how precious life is.

We rode bike around dusk, cuddled in front of the TV, cancelled all our social commitments just to enjoy each other’s company, remembering how precious life is.

We ate a lot of icy poles, she showed me her freshly applied make up, i saw her clay mask in the bath, she forgave me for listenting to the same music on loop the whole day, all the while remembering how precious life is.

My uncle is dying. My dear friend’s mum died. Another dear one is fighting cancer. A serie of very sad news over the past week reminding all those affected how precious life is.

Today, spending a whole afternoon surrendering to single dad my forever youngest Jean while her elders were on their own separate adventures was a very timely and blissful experience.
